Entries are now open for The 2017 Balnaves Foundation Indigenous Playwright’s Award.
Any writer, established or emerging, of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent is encouraged to apply, regardless of whether or not they have written for theatre before. Applicants can reside anywhere in Australia.
In the past four years the award has recognised playwrights Katie Beckett, Leah Purcell, Jada Alberts and Nakkiah Lui, but also inspired many Indigenous artists to dream up new plays and we can't wait to see what's dreamed up in 2017!
Applications close 7 April
