Producers from Trafalgar Entertainment have announced today that they are in advanced talks with executives from Twentieth Century Fox about bringing The X Files: The Musical to a London stage. The show’s creator, Chris Carter, and his production company Ten Thirteen Productions are also involved in discussions.
Although no official date has been set, executives are looking at a possible stage debut in 2021.
It is hoped that the show’s original stars, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, will reunite for the production and reprise their roles as iconic FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. Anderson is currently enjoying critical acclaim in the West End in All About Eve, whilst Duchovny has been touring his third album, Every Third Thought.
Talks are also being held with the show’s original composer, Mark Snow, who created the scores for all eleven seasons of The X Files and the two feature films.
The X Files TV series went from cult hit to global phenomenon. The original series ran from 1993-2002 until it was revived in 2016 and 2018.
