Shiela Valderrama is a seasoned theatre performer and singer who grabbed two citations as Best Actress in a Musical and Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for her role as Princess Fiona in “Shrek” and as Catherine Lyons in Sandbox Collective’s “Dani Girl”. She was a Best New Female Recording Artist winner in the prestigious Awit Awards for her featured song "That Time of Year" in Jose Mari Chan’s “Going Home to Christmas” album.
Shiela performed the role of Kapitana Mary Jane and Madre De Dios and in the critically acclaimed Filipino Originals "RAK of Aegis" and "Kung Paano Ako Naging Leading Lady" respectively. Other works include The Baker's Wife in Upstart production of "Into The Woods"; " Resorts World Manila’s 9 month run of "The King and I", playing the lead role Anna Leonowens (garnering Best Actress Nominations in Broadway World Philippines and Aliw Awards) and Atlantis Production’s “Carrie The Musical” playing the role of Miss Lyn Gardner, where she was chosen to record for the show’s original cast recording.
Shiela's international theatre credits include Broadway Asia’s Asian tour production of Rogers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella (Cinderella Cover) where she was among the 3 Filipinos in the cast along with Lea Salonga. She was on Hong Kong Disneyland’s Original Opening Team performing 3 years in Disney Stage Shows “The Golden Mickey’s Show”; a Cantonese speaking lead role in “Bebe” and “Tarzan Singer”, and was also the first Asian to perform the role of “Nala” in the Disneyland Park Show “The Festival of The Lion King”. She likewise appeared in several Disney Special Events performing with the Disneyland Orchestra.
Shiela made her professional stage debut in Rep’s Children's Theater 46th season staging of “Cinderella” (Cinderella Cover & Green Fairy) and “Aladdin” (Princess Mei Ling). After taking a hiatus to complete her Business Degree in De Lasalle University – College of St. Benilde, she returned to Stage with Repertory Philippines for the productions of “The Secret Garden” (Mrs. Shelly/Ensemble), “Miong” (Kampuput); “Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs” (Snow White); William Shakespeare's “Much Ado About Nothing” (Ursula); “A Christmas Carol” (Ghost of Christmas Past/Mrs. Ethel Cratchit), “Fame” (Serena Katz) & “Noises Off” (Belinda Blair).
Other credits include The Philippine Opera Company’s “Hansel and Gretel” (The Dewfairy); Metropolitan Theater Guild’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” (Helena); a Stages-abridged production of “Mama Mia” (Donna Sherridon); Trumpets' abridged touring shows of “The Little Mermaid”; Atlantis Productions of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” (Marcy Park); 9Works Theatrical’s “Sweet Charity” (Nickie Pignatelli); “The Wedding Singer” (Julia Sullivan) Resorts World Manila’s “The Sound of Music” (Baroness Elsa) Shraeder and Ryan Cayabyab’s original Filipino musical “Lorenzo” (Rosario Ruiz). Shiela also performed for the Pagcor Theater show “Flow” at Genting Club in Resort World Manila and for “Aawitan Kita”, a Filipino Folk Opera.
In addition, Shiela launched a self-titled debut album and is set to do Album promo tours and film a music video. She is likewise very active in performing and hosting corporate events in the Philippines and abroad. She also does film and TV work and has done several radio, print and television ads: Marby Bread, Palmolive Soap and Shampoo, J&J Lotion, Royal True Orange, Athena Milk, Globe Telecom, C-Lium Fiber, Rustan's & KFC.
