Graduating from Australia’s most prestigious acting school, the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) with a Bachelors of Dramatic Arts Degree majoring in Acting, Jenny is an accomplished multilingual actress fluent in English, Mandarin, and Shanghainese.
2016 saw Jenny Wu starring in her first US action movie lead role, playing the antagonist in an all-female martial arts tournament feature film “Lady Bloodfight” directed by Chris Nahon.
Jenny is also seen in the premiere episode of FOXTEL’s political thriller TV series “Secret City” alongside Anna Torv; co-lead in “Australia Day” about racial tensions on the national holiday alongside Bryan Brown; a feature film about the Chinese Cultural Revolution; a television show starring alongside Chinese mega-star Liu Xiao Qing and a German production of a film noir short filmed near Berlin.
Jenny has had the privilege early in her career to work and learn from some of the greatest in the industry such as legendary Jackie Chan, John Cusack, Adrien Brody and Martha Coolidge.
Jenny worked as hard on stage for a Patrick White adaptation “The Ham Funeral”, a geopolitical thriller about China-Amercia relations in “Chimerica” and toured her homeland for Erth’s puppetry show “Dinosaur’s Zoo.”
In 2013 Jenny was “Miss Sydney China” Beauty Pageant finalist hosted by TVB Australia. That same year, she was selected out of 70,000 candidates as a finalist for the "Transformers 4: Age of Extinction – Search for Actors” competition held in Beijing, organised by Paramount Studios.
In 2014 Jenny received the Art Start Grant from the Australia Council for the Arts.
