Michael is a producer, actor and performance maker. As an actor he has worked with Sydney Theatre Company, American Repertory Theatre (Boston), SITI Company (New York), master clown Philippe Gaulier (Berlin), Baz Luhrmann, Taylor Mac (NYC), Kate Gaul and Australian Theatre for Young People. With assistance from the Ian Potter Cultural Trust, Michael was Programming Associate for Performance Space 122’s COIL Festival (2013) in New York City as well as performing with Taylor Mac and the Tony Award Winning American Repertory Theater in Boston.
As a Producer Michael has toured shows to festivals around Australia and of course internationally. He programmed ATYP's Under the Wharf forums and has been involved with ATYP’s Young Artist Program and World Interplay (2009). He is also the founding Chair of Sydney Theatre Company's Youth Advisory Panel (STC YAP), providing theatregoing experiences for those under 30. Overall he is an active member of both the Australian and international performing arts scene; at present he is working with autistic youth and their families to create an interactive environment for a 2016/2017 Festival Season.
Together Creative Producer Michael Cutrupi and Associate Producer Skye Kunstelj have launched the producing service Fat Boy Dancing, as a platform to connect local and international theatre makers to create engaging, innovative and fresh experiences for their audiences, with a specific focus on ongoing local and international collaboration.
