Biography
Originally from Hobart, Tasmania, Karen Ireson grew up performing at her mother’s dancing school and attending St. Michaels Collegiate of. Performing Arts. After high school, she moved to Victoria to receive her Bachelor’s degree in Music Theatre at the Ballarat Arts Academy (BAPA). While studying, she played ‘Anytime’ Annie in “42nd Street”, Britt Craig in Parade and had the privilege of performing her cabaret “The Karen War” at the prestigious Ballarat Cabaret Festival.
Karen has established herself as a professional in many facets of the arts industry: “Ricercar “(Present Tense),” Like A Version” (The Rihanna Patrick Program, ABC), “The Full Monty” (Stage Art), “Behind Barre”s (Choreographer, Dir: Sophia Bender), Hermione in “PotterHeads” and choreographed the workshop production of “I Won’t Dance: The Fred” and “Ginger Musical” (Smoke and Mirrors).
