Biography
Sheila Tan was born in Cebu, Philippines before moving to Sydney, Australia aged nine. Always an artist at heart, she became skilled in drawing and painting. However, life got the better of her so she studied Design at Uni and pursued a traditional career path.
After several jobs in the corporate, startup, medical and educational fields, Sheila tried her hand at acting and modelling for fun in 2017. This helped her to reconnect with her creativity, but it was still a side gig while she continued to work professionally in her latest career path of sales and marketing. Due to circumstances beyond her control including reorienting her priorities in the middle of the pandemic, this was the wake-up call that she needed: that perhaps the rat race was not really working out for her. This then motivated her to go ‘all-in’ on her acting career.
Sheila loves being on camera, having found unexpected success in that side gig. She appeared on TVCs across Australia and NZ as well as social media and national out-of-home media. Some of her roles to date have been that of a funky designer; corporate executive; or girl next door type.
Today, Sheila is ready to tackle the next stage of her career in the arts by performing in more substantial roles for TV and film as Actor and Presenter.
